Important Message About 2023 Insurance Processing Dates

Are you an AAC evaluator who has clients with private-insurance-only plans resetting on January 1? Are you a caregiver for a loved one needing an AAC solution with a private-insurance-only plan resetting on January 1? Then this message is for you!

To help us meet end-of-year deadlines, please submit your COMPLETED private-insurance-only funding applications to PRC-Saltillo’s secure online funding portal by Friday, October 20, 2023. 

Why this early funding application deadline?

There are many factors involved in processing and placing orders for speech-generating devices (SGDs) with private insurance plans. To best serve our clients and provide voices to as many people as possible, this early date allows us to work quickly while allocating time for any unforeseen delays with insurance processing. We have also seen an increase in processing times from private insurances, who are similarly busy at year end.

While we will make every effort to process in time, it does not guarantee fulfillment of services. Note: The date of service is the date the device ships. For more information, contact your local consultant.

What needs to be submitted to PRC-Saltillo by Friday, October 20?

Submit the following COMPLETED funding information at AACFunding.com by this deadline:

1. AAC Evaluation (with speech-language pathologist signature and credentials)
2. Signed assignment of benefits
3. Signed certificate of medical necessity (CMN)
4. Equipment selection sheet
5. Client information including insurance cards
6. Any state-specific forms

How do you know if a client fits the ‘private insurance-only’ description?

This refers to any client who is covered exclusively by a non-Medicaid or non-Medicare commercial plan with no secondary plan coverage.
