With a broad range of AAC options available, the Accent^® 800 and 1000 as well as the NuPoint^® head tracking module are being retired alongside the Accent 1400 and Look^® eye tracking module.

Accent devices have supported independent communication for more than a decade, and NuPoint has provided important access for many. While inventory lasts, the Accent 800 and 1000 continue to be strong options. Below, you'll find important dates*, support information, and alternative options to help you make informed decisions about your future AAC solution.

Ongoing Support for Your Device

If you currently use or plan to purchase an Accent 800 or 1000 while inventory lasts, you can feel confident in continued support:

• Devices will continue to be supported for five years from the date of purchase via our High Five Warranty
• NuPoint modules will be supported by a one-year accessory warranty
• Software updates will continue as long as hardware compatibility allows
• PRC-Saltillo Consultants will still be available to you with the exceptional service you’ve come to expect

Our goal is to ensure a smooth transition while honoring the role the Accent has played in so many communication journeys.

New Possibilities with Vocabulary Converter Software Feature

If you are looking for your next portable device, there are new possibilities coming soon for vocabulary file compatibility! For those who currently communicate with Accent devices, a new vocabulary converter software feature will be available with the next NuVoice^® and Empower^® software update that allows you to convert and transfer most custom vocabulary files to a NovaChat or Via device.

The vocabulary conversion process focuses on the transfer of words/messages, symbols/photos, labels, navigation, and some basic tools. This gives you more options for your AAC solution, especially when it comes to lighter-weight handheld devices.

New Possibilities for Alternative Access

For individuals exploring head tracking or other alternative access methods, our team is here to help. In addition to built-in head tracking on fundable Via devices, this fall, we’re introducing next-generation AAC solutions designed to bring new possibilities to adults, teens, and children with acquired or long-term complex communication needs.
