A New Chapter In AAC: Avaz Joins The PRC-Saltillo Community

For nearly 60 years, PRC-Saltillo has been a pioneer in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), delivering trusted solutions like TouchChat®, LAMP Words for Life®, Dialogue® AAC, Unity® AAC, Accent®, NovaChat®, and Via®. Today, we’re thrilled to announce a new chapter in our journey: Avaz has officially joined the PRC-Saltillo community.   

This milestone brings two exciting developments: 

• Avaz’s multilingual, design-forward app joins our suite of AAC apps—offering new possibilities for users across diverse languages, communication needs, and operating systems. 
• A newly incorporated entity in India strengthens our ability to serve AAC users in India and Southeast Asia, expanding access in regions where communication support is growing rapidly. 

Avaz is now a wholly owned subsidiary of PRC-Saltillo. All current employees—both in India and across PRC-Saltillo’s North American and international subsidiaries—will remain in their roles. All existing products and services from both organizations will remain available to customers as they are today. This reflects a shared commitment to continuity, stability, and honoring the people and tools that have made both organizations successful, while also allowing room for thoughtful evolution to the future. 

Why This Partnership Matters 

At the heart of this acquisition is a shared belief: AAC is not a privilege reserved only for some. It is a right.

Continuity for Customers 

Customers of both Avaz and PRC-Saltillo can expect continuity in the products, services, and support on which they rely. There are no major changes planned, and both companies will continue their commitment to the quality and care our customers trust.   

We know that customers may have questions about product availability and support. For example: 

• Will I be able to get the Avaz app on a Via/NovaChat device?
  • This will depend on what part of the world you are in! For example, Avaz will not be available on Via or NovaChat devices within the United States or the European Union due to certification requirements. Please check with your local representative for more specific information.  
• Will I be able to get PRC-Saltillo AAC devices in India? 
  • We hope to be able to offer these soon! Please let your Indian Avaz team know if this is something in which you are interested. 
• Will the price, availability, or content of any of the apps change? 
  • There are currently no plans for the prices, availability, or content of the Avaz and PRC-Saltillo apps to change.  
• Will my support for the apps change? 
  • Support for all apps will remain the same! For Avaz support, please contact support@avazapp.com. For LAMP Words for Life, TouchChat, Unity, and Dialogue AAC app support, please contact support@aacapps.com. If you are using an app on a medical device, support is provided by the company who provided you with the device.
