Feature Medley For App Update 2026.1

Published February 11, 2026

The latest PRC-Saltillo app update brings new dialect vocabularies, AI features, code switching, visually hide/show words in Vocabulary Builder™, shaping sets, and more! Update LAMP Words for Life®, TouchChat®, Unity® AAC, and Dialogue® AAC apps to version 2026.1 and explore all that’s new today!

Dialect Vocabularies

Introducing three new English dialects—Canadian, United Kingdom, and Australian—for popular LAMP Words for Life Full and WordPower®60 Basic vocabularies for iOS apps and ChatEditor™ emulation software. You’ll have AAC that speaks your dialect, reflecting the foods you eat, the clothes you wear, and the places you visit. It’s English the way you use it.

Here are some vocabulary button examples for English Canadian.

By offering English files designed specifically for your region, you’ll spend less time manually customizing vocabulary and more time connecting. These dialect vocabulary files feature:

AI Features

Code Switching

Apps version 2026.1 also brings code switching in the speech display bar for all apps. Your voice synthesizer can now switch between any combination of voices whether they’re Almagu, Acapela, or Apple. Your voice output will speak based on the language of the words in your SDB. For example, if you have both English and Spanish words in the same sentence in your SDB, they will be spoken correctly by the respective English and Spanish voices selected.

Visually Hide/Show Words in Vocabulary Builder

Explore the masking on the fly option now available for Vocabulary Builder in LAMP Words for Life and Unity AAC apps. You’ll notice a new button in the bottom left-hand corner of your Vocabulary Builder screen for hiding/showing words. Select it and by default, all buttons are grayed out. Start picking words for your Vocabulary Builder list. Choose as many words as you like, and upon selecting the save button, those words/buttons are saved to your list. If you miss a word or a grammar action like the +s, you can go back and add it.

Additional Features

Additional Vocabulary Updates

Shaping sets are now available within Unity 28 1-Hit (Categories > Shaping Sets > top right corner) to help AAC learners develop their direct selection access method skills within the context of their vocabulary system. You can start with large symbol pairs and then go back and pick medium (to refine access with a simple choice) or small (the size in Unity 28 1-Hit) symbol pairs.
