We’re thrilled to announce a transformative software update that makes AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) more local and accessible than ever! Our latest release introduces three new English dialects—Canadian, UK, and Australian—for popular LAMP Words for Life Full and WordPower60 Basic vocabularies for iOS apps, Chat Software, and ChatEditor™. With these updates, you’ll have AAC that speaks your dialect, reflecting the foods you eat, the money you use, and the places you visit. It’s English the way you use it.

UK English Dialect

Vegemite, Hungry Jack's, The Coffee Club, Bunnings, wombat, echidna, and pyjamas. The Australian English dialect files are ready for you to speak about the unique treasures found in your country.

NovaChat Devices

Dialect vocabularies are available to new and current NovaChat (known as NovaRugged in Australia) communicators with Chat Software version 2026.1. Look for the globe icon in the library menu to quickly identify files with dialect variants. You can also filter by the dialect or symbol set you prefer.

Voice update: Your voice synthesizer now automatically changes to match the language of your vocabulary file. No need to change languages in the settings menu—a great feature for monolingual AAC team members supporting multilingual communicators.
