WordPower is a word-based AAC vocabulary designed to facilitate quick and easy language generation. It includes high-frequency core words color coded into parts of speech (pronouns, verbs, adjectives, etc.) Grammatical word classes have been included such as nouns and adjectives. As a sentence is being built, you often find that the next word you want to say can be spoken with one or two button presses. WP was developed by Nancy L. Inman, M.A.T., CCC-SLP specifically for the Chat devices. Nancy is widely known in the field of AAC for her work in developing, implementing and teaching word-based vocabulary programs (note that word prediction is NOT available on the Standard Model).
Being a word-based vocabulary, WordPower can be used by a wide age group. Nouns, adjectives and verbs can be added and customized to meet the particular needs of the individual.

LAMP Words for Life is available for NovaChat devices in the following languages: English, Canadian French, and Spanish. In each vocabulary, adjustments were made to address some unique grammar structures. Button placement has stayed as consistent as possible, providing support for bilingual language learning.

Designed to support bedside communication for patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) and their caregivers. While not a replacement for interpreter services, it facilitates immediate interaction to address basic needs. Using a shared tablet, patients select Spanish-labeled buttons with icons, generating spoken English messages, while caregivers select English-labeled buttons, generating spoken Spanish responses. Medi-Bilingual Spanish covers essential topics such as vital signs, positioning, care needs, feelings, food, and family contact. It also includes buttons for requesting and confirming interpreter assistance, ensuring timely language support. By reducing communication barriers in critical situations, this tool enhances patient safety and improves the overall care experience. MultiChat 15 is offered in a Student, Adolescent and Adult version. There are multiple forms of communication available in this program: sentences, phrases, individual words, recordings for story-telling and visual scenes. Also included are interactive play, reading, and social pages. There are symbols on every button with the exception of several core words. High contrast symbols may provide more visual discrimination for a person and uses the PCS library.

WordPower20 Simply incorporates carrier phrases with core words for quick and easy language generation and therefore, could be called a “hybrid,” because it can be used primarily as a phrase-based system, or as a word-based system. It was designed for users with motor disabilities and access issues, those with vision impairment that need large cells and print, cognitively and severely language disabled individuals who benefit from phrases to assist with quick language generation, and those who have scanning access needs.
