Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) makes so much possible, and we want you to experience the best of connection, exploration, independence, and more! You are the reason why we offer AAC training. Training builds competence and confidence for everyone on the AAC team. Learning from AAC experts with diverse educational backgrounds and extensive experience supporting individuals with complex communication needs sets you up for success. They’re ready to share their knowledge and strategies in easy-to-learn formats so you can succeed with your device, vocabulary, and access method.

AAC Learning Journey

Because everyone learns differently, PRC-Saltillo's training and education team offer a variety of course options through one comprehensive learning hub: AAC Learning Journey. eLearning Modules

If you have a busy schedule or prefer to learn on your own in short increments of time, an eLearning course would be a great fit for you. These online courses include a mix of reading, videos, interactive lessons, and quizzes. They are set up by module that remembers your place. When you log back in later, you can start where you left off.

Instructor-Led Training

Live, instructor-led trainings (ILTs) on various topics are offered virtually at specific times through Zoom. Check the calendar often as new classes are added regularly. Participants may keep their cameras turned off and interact through the chat feature. Advanced registration is required. Examples of these courses include:

In-Person Training

If you prefer to meet face-to-face for conversation and hands-on learning, consider one of our in-person training courses. If you have a device, please bring it with you. These are generally one or two-day learning opportunities. Examples of these courses include:

Coaching Opportunities

AAC Coaching Corner offers fun and interactive small group learning for parents/family members and professionals. The online format includes a mix of eLearning and instructor-led training.

• AAC Group Coaching – a four-week session for family members
• AAC Pro Coaching Clinic – a six-week session for professionals supporting communicators who use AAC
• AAC Custom Coaching – a six-to-eight-week session for you and five individuals on your AAC team

Continuing Education Credits

PRC-Saltillo offers courses at introductory and intermediate levels. Courses are open to anyone on the AAC team—family, friends, professionals—anyone supporting an AAC communicator or curious to learn more. You may earn ASHA CEUs or a certificate of attendance for most courses. Specific information is noted on each course.
