Experience Personalized Support With AAC Custom Coaching

AAC Coaching Corner is expanding again! Become a better communication partner for your loved one with AAC Custom Coaching. Your personalized session is packed with fun engagement through a combination of live, online discussions, implementation practice, and self-paced, eLearning courses. Set goals with clear direction and resources to reach them that include your family’s interests. Learn tips and strategies applicable to any AAC device or vocabulary.  

Build your AAC team 

Custom coaching features the benefits of a coach and a group. You have the option of inviting up to five other individuals to join your team for your custom session. Consider who wants to learn more about AAC and who is helping you on your AAC journey. This could be grandparents, aunts/uncles, care providers, a teacher, or speech-language pathologist. Working together, you’ll choose motivating activities to practice with your AAC communicator. You’ll discuss implementation scenarios, share stories of progress, and encourage each other to reach your goals. 

Meet your AAC coach 

Get ready to learn from an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with extensive AAC experience. Our friendly and informative AAC Coaches have decades of experience implementing AAC in a variety of settings, as well as supporting families and their teams. Members of PRC-Saltillo's Training and Implementation Team, our AAC Coaches will help you learn how to maximize interactions with your AAC communicator through targeted strategies and simple tools you can use at home. 

Custom AAC coaching with video feedback 

A key element of custom coaching is video feedback. At each live meeting, you and your AAC Coach will choose an activity and develop an action plan for you to practice with your AAC communicator. After you’ve tried this strategy a few times, you’ll upload a short video of your interaction to review at the next live meeting. The weekly videos will be a starting point for celebrating wins and discussing more ways to increase AAC interactions. Reflecting on simple ways to increase your AAC communicator’s opportunities to communicate helps everyone learn new skills. 

In between the six online meetings, you’ll keep growing through six self-paced, eLearning courses. Sessions typically run 6-8 weeks with one-hour live meetings at a mutually agreed upon time. All participants receive a one-year subscription to Realize Language™ and AAC Language Lab®.
