2025 Year In Review

Oh, what a year it’s been! Reflecting on 2025 with a smile for the people we’ve connected with, the products that make communication possible, the partnerships we celebrated, and so much more!

Here are some of our top highlights from 2025. Which one is your favorite?

People

Our vibrant AAC community is global yet personal. It’s a joy spending time with you! This year, we:

• Welcomed 17 new AAC ambassadors bringing this incredible team to 100 members
• Wished a happy retirement to eight employees with a combined 253 years of serving the mission
• Greeted countless professionals at a magical ATiA Conference and an out-of-this-world ASHA Convention
• Gathered for our company annual meeting with employees from across the United States and around the world
• Listened to John & Cindy Halloran tell the story of the LAMP™ Approach
• Connected with more than 10,0000 learners through online and in-person trainings including the Center for AAC & Autism, Minspeak® Academy, TIPS, and consultant-taught events

Products

New devices, apps, and tools launched to help you achieve your communication potential:

• The small but mighty six-inch Via® Nano made its debut early in the year
• The original core word vocabulary system was reimagined for iOS as Unity® AAC & Unity Discover
• The popular LAMP Words for Life® vocabulary system released on a Discover app and expanded the NovaChat® vocabulary offerings
• Engage® became all product line to help customers find their best AAC access
• Ready-to-go, reusable Therapy Tools were introduced on the eStore to make learning more enjoyable for everyone

Our efforts in developing assistive technology were recognized for making meaningful strides in accessibility around the world. Leading with trust, respect, and integrity, we were honored to be named to the inaugural 2025 Forbes Accessibility 100 list!

Expansion

This year, we grew globally with two new subsidiaries:

• Avaz joined the PRC-Saltillo community offering new possibilities for users across diverse languages, communication needs, and operating systems
• PRC-Saltillo Singapore was established to expand access to AAC across Singapore and the ASEAN region

Languages

Expanding language options brought AAC to even more individuals:

• Bilingual Spanish/English Empower® became available in Minspeak® and Essence® vocabularies, toolbox features, keyboards, and more on Accent® devices
• Mandarin AAC options expanded again with the addition of WordPower®42 in Mandarin/Simplified Chinese on the TouchChat® iOS app
• The LAMP Words for Life iOS app became available in German with the support of our friends at Prentke Romich Deutschland

Literacy

We are obsessed with literacy, and we know you are too.

• Our series of National Reading Month activities were filled with professionals and family members eager to help communicators fall in love with literacy
• We teamed up with Building Wings™ to bring even more LAMP Words for Life® and Unity® resources into classrooms to support language, literacy, and authentic communication with students who use AAC
• My AAC Literacy Journal launched as your new go-to guide for supporting emergent and conventional literacy learners whether you are just getting started with literacy interventions or are looking to level up your instruction

Digital

We wrapped up the year with a reimagined company website. This website redesign merged the best of PRC and Saltillo websites into a single, seamless experience. Easier to access and navigate, everything you need can be found in one place!

Bonus!

Our smiles got even wider as AAC was recognized on mainstream platforms:

• PBS Kids show, Carl the Collector, welcomed a new character who uses an AAC device
• Disney+ featured Camp ALEC, a camp for school-aged children using AAC, on their People and Places documentary series which included some PRC-Saltillo ambassadors
