Refreshed Vocabularies And Built-in Tools With Empower 1.32

Empower® 1.32 brings a big round of vocabulary and keyboard updates designed to make everyday communication faster and provide more consistency across PRC-Saltillo products. This release adds practical improvements you’ll notice right away. Update your Accent® device to 1.32 today!

Keyboard updates

• New editing button actions on the 60- and 84-location keyboards: Quickly jump to the beginning or end of your message window, copy/paste text, speak the next sentence, and insert a pause, all from built-in tools so you can enjoy more control when crafting longer messages or presenting in class or at work
• 45-location keyboard paused: Legacy files will remain available to download for those who prefer this button layout
• Word prediction keys available on the LAMP Words for Life® keyboard: This new layout option offers access to words you use frequently

Vocabulary refresh for Unity and LAMP Words for Life

Explore refreshed Unity and LAMP Words for Life vocabularies that feature long-standing user feedback and match Empower files to their respective iOS app counterparts. Consistency across product lines makes it easier for SLPs and other AAC team members supporting learners across multiple devices.

• Unity 28, 36, 60, and 84 (Sequenced and 1-Hit) refreshed: Updated to reflect Unity AAC app files, with improvements that support smoother navigation
• Unity 45 Sequenced and 1-Hit paused: Legacy files will remain available to download for those who prefer this button layout
• LAMP Words for Life (Full): Updated to better match iOS/Chat software versions
• Expanded access to health-related communication: A private body parts page link has been added off the original body parts page supporting safer, more complete communication about health and personal safety

PAGES updates: more ways to learn and have fun

Engage your learners with built-in activities and links located through the PAGES section of Minspeak® vocabularies.

• New Songs page to add musical fun to your AAC learning
• Knock-knock jokes and riddles moved back to two-button sequences for faster access
• “Have fun” and “school subject” activities have been relocated into Pages for easier discovery
• New links added for IR, texting, Join-In web apps, Timocco, and Engage® videos

How to get Empower 1.32

If your device is set up for over-the-air updates, you’ll be able to install Empower 1.32 once it becomes available. You can also check for updates in the Toolbox under System Settings. If you’re an evaluator or supporting a communicator in a school or clinic, consider sharing these highlights with the whole AAC team so everyone can benefit.
