The Center for AAC & Autism is a clinical and educational resource dedicated to supporting individuals who communicate differently. Whether someone is autistic, has a developmental disability, or is non-speaking for any reason, we believe everyone has the ability and the right to communicate.
The Center's website is your trusted resource for exploring augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), understanding the unique language development pathways of autistic individuals, and discovering the Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) approach—a method that supports authentic, independent communication through consistent motor planning.

LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning) is a research-based approach to teaching communication using high-tech AAC. It’s a therapeutic method, not a specific AAC system. LAMP Words for Life (WFL), on the other hand, is a robust language system designed for AAC devices that applies the principles of the LAMP approach.
