May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month – a month to celebrate individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and the teams who support them.
Your speech therapist or speech-language pathologist (SLP) is usually the most influential professional on your loved one’s AAC team. They serve individuals with a variety of speech or language difficulties –whether present from birth or acquired through injury or disease. They provide evaluations and treatment for individuals who have cerebral palsy, autism, Rett's, Down Syndrome, apraxia, ALS, traumatic brain injury, and other unique situations. We respect so many qualities they possess.
Let’s recognize some of the amazing ways SLPs share their clinical skills and provide guidance when it comes to AAC.
At PRC-Saltillo, SLPs strive to help you and your teams achieve AAC success:
Learn more about the benefits of AAC training and why learning from clinicians makes a difference.
