Introducing New Therapy Tools In The PRC-Saltillo EStore

Published April 8, 2025

Helping someone learn to communicate is much more enjoyable with the right tools. Preparing these resources can take more time than you have. PRC-Saltillo’s new implementation items were developed by clinicians to make AAC exciting and successful for everyone on your team.

“I remember my first client that used an AAC device,” said Cortney Maholtz, M.A., CCC-SLP. “It felt so foreign to me! I didn’t know about the device or the language and I had no idea what materials to use with him in therapy. As an AAC Consultant, many of my customers shared similar fears and concerns. The therapy tools on the eStore are a great place to get over your fears. You will find resources that are fun and engaging and support you on the journey to being a good communication partner.”

Fulfill Your Language and Therapy Goals

Let’s explore the new tools and ways to use them.

Smash Mats

Sensory, physical, and fun, smash mats can be a game of their own or part of another game. You can also adjust the level to your AAC learner. Maybe they are at the one-word level and your goal is for them to find and say the word. Or maybe you are at the asking-questions level, and they have to ask a question before smashing out the word with Play Doh™, a marker, or a chip marker. Think about small items you have available and consider what might engage your learner.

Laminated smash mats are available in a 10-pack with each one having its own themed design.

Conversation Cards

Keep your AAC learner talking by asking questions. Asking open-ended questions, like the ones in these conversation cards, creates an opportunity for back-and-forth communication. Use these cards to model asking questions along with commenting and sharing your thoughts.

Conversation cards are available in five different sets (36 cards each):

Lite-tech Flipbooks

Use these Unity® 84 and WordPower® 60 flipbooks to model or as backups for high-tech. They are a wonderful way to give everyone in your classroom access to robust AAC without an expensive price tag. Hundreds of words are included!

“High-quality clinical implementation resources and your time are equally valuable,” said Teresa Dubovsky, MEd, MEd, CCC-SLP, Director of Training and Education. “That's why we're excited to introduce our implementation store! The store's ready-made materials complement our vocabularies and online resources, ensuring you get the most out of your therapy and instructional sessions.”
