Katie Covey, M.S., CCC-SLP, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. Before joining PRC-Saltillo in January 2025, Katie spent five years working in outpatient private practice, specializing in pediatrics. As the lead Speech-Language Pathologist and clinical supervisor at her clinic, she conducted AAC evaluations, consulted with families to support device implementation, and provided ongoing therapy for children with a wide range of speech and language disorders. Additionally, she offered extensive training to staff and families on the use of AAC tools to enhance language skills for individuals with communication differences.
Katie is dedicated to providing individualized, relationship-based communication support to help individuals achieve successful communication and connection. She is passionate about equipping clients and their families with the tools and strategies needed to develop effective and authentic communication skills.
Katie holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Texas. Additionally, she is a certified DIRFloortime® practitioner (DIR-Basic) through the International Council for Development and Learning (ICDL) and a Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) trained clinician.
