Brett Martin, M.S., CCC-SLP, earned a bachelor’s degree in History, Classics, and Spanish at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada in 2010. After three years teaching English in Spain for the Spanish Government, he returned to the States, where he completed a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Portland State University in Oregon, with a bilingual concentration, in 2018. During his final clinical externship at Providence Children’s Development Institute, he discovered his passion for working with AAC devices to support the language development of complex communicators.
Prior to joining PRC in December 2024, Brett served as a speech therapist in several outpatient clinics in Phoenix, Arizona, supporting bilingual children, many with complex bodies and diagnoses. Early in his clinical career, Brett worked under the guidance of an OT supervisor specializing in Sensory Integration Therapy, which he incorporated into his ongoing therapy with children with Autism. While working with United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona, Brett served as an AAC specialist, implementing therapy and evaluations while coaching families and caregivers as part of their AAC training program. Brett worked frequently with Minspeak’s Unity and Unidad platforms to support bilingual families and performed all his clinical duties in both Spanish and English.
Brett holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a state license in Speech-Language Pathology from the State of Arizona.
