Catherine Brumback, M.A., CCC-SLP, received her Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Virginia with a double major in Speech Language Pathology and French Literature in 2013. She attended George Washington University where she worked as a research and teaching assistant and graduated with her Masters of Arts in Speech Language Pathology in 2015. Catherine additionally completed a year-long Certificate in Early Intervention from the Georgetown School of Continuing Studies in 2017. Before joining PRC, Catherine worked as an early interventionist in Washington, D.C doing in-home sessions with parents and caregivers focusing on social, cognitive, feeding, and language development. Catherine additionally worked for an inclusion childcare center, Easter Seals serving DC/MD/VA, where she developed her interest and specialization in Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC). At Easter Seals, Catherine completed AAC evaluations, AAC trials, and provided weekly therapy for children using a variety of AAC systems. Catherine used the coaching interaction style to teach parents, teachers, and other therapists to help toddlers and young children to grow their spoken language with AAC.
Catherine holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), a state license in Speech-Language Pathology from the State of New York and the District of Columbia, and is a member of ASHA’s Special Interest Group 12 (AAC).
