Before logging into the new AAC Funding Portal for the first time, be sure to check out all the great information available at AACfunding.com. This information includes how to borrow a device, an explanation of the funding process, insurance resources, funding forms, support articles and videos, and more!
Now that we’re back live from our brief hiatus, there are a couple of options you can take to get you where you need to go!
The AACfunding.com Portal now creates a streamlined funding experience from start to finish. Follow these 8 Steps to submit an application for funding a speech-generating device from PRC-Saltillo.
Step 1: Create a Secure PRC-Saltillo Account
Already have an account? No worries, you don’t need to create another one! Simply log in to your existing account. Learn more!
Step 2: Create a New Application & Add Contributors
Need a trial device from us? Select the application for a trial device. If not, simply select the application for purchase. Next, be sure to invite the necessary people to contribute to your application. These people might include the speech-language pathologist (SLP), primary contact/medical decision maker, and/or the client, depending on who starts the application. Your PRC-Saltillo support staff (AAC Consultant, Funding Specialist, and/or Trial Program Specialist) will be automatically added as contributors to your application. Learn more!
Step 3: Add the Client Information
Have the client’s information ready to easily create the application.
Step 4: Add Insurance & Assignment of Benefits (AOB) Information
Be sure to make copies of the front and back of ALL health insurance cards (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance, etc.) and that the policy holder signs an AOB for each insurance. An AOB is an agreement that allows an insurance company to directly work with or pay a third party for services performed on a client's behalf. Step 5: AAC Evaluation Report
Complete an evaluation within the portal or upload your own. This report must be written by the evaluating SLP. Learn more!
Step 6: Physician Documents and Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) Script
A signed and dated prescription from the physician for all recommended equipment in the AAC Evaluation is required. Be sure the doctor signs ALL necessary CMNs, state documents, and office visit notes (if needed).
Step 7: Upload Equipment Selection Sheet
Be sure to fill out the appropriate Equipment Selection Sheet, making sure the equipment you select matches what appears in the AAC evaluation and physician’s forms.
Step 8: Submit the Application then Sit Back and Check the Status!
Once your application is complete and your insurance has been reviewed, submit your application! After that, simply log in to check the status of your application. Learn more!
If you submitted any documents to our funding department prior to May 1st, 2023, an application has been started in the new AAC Funding Portal on your behalf. Please do not start a new application.
